Foundations and Clinical Application of Internal Family Systems.

The Foundations of Internal Family Systems for Perinatal Populations Certificate Program is offered for any allied health professionals working with the perinatal population, who want to learn more about IFS and how to work from an IFS lens with the perinatal population. 

The full Foundations and Clinical Application of Internal Family Systems for Perinatal Populations Certificate Program is for regulated mental health professionals, who aim to actively use IFS as a psychotherapeutic model in their practice with perinatal clients.

You also have the option of expanding your IFS practice through clinical consultation sessions with an IFS Supervisor. Details to be announced during the training program.

Level One: Foundations of IFS for Perinatal Populations

During the Foundations course you will learn the foundational concepts of IFS, develop a beginner’s understanding of one’s own parts and internal system. Upon completion of this course, you will learn about the various parts that can develop or become more present during the perinatal period and learn how to get to know a part with the clients you work with.

Level 2: Applied Concepts of IFS for Perinatal Populations

During this course you will learn how to access Self energy when in session with clients. You will also develop an understanding of the difference between compassion and empathy and how a compassionate approach can prevent therapist burnout.

Module 3: Exploring Parts and Connecting to the Self

Module 4: Detecting Parts and Perinatal Wounds - Trauma Work

✔️ Case Conceptualization and Working with Perinatal Wounds

✔️ In-vivo Demonstrations and Skills Practice

When: May 9 (1:00pm - 4:00pm EST / 10:00am - 1:00pm PST) 

Module 5: Common Challenges When Working With IFS

✔️ Managing Common Challenges such as Suicidality and Self-Harm with IFS

✔️ The Difficulty of Un-Blending Legacy Burdens amongst Patriarchy, Racism, and Capitalism

✔️ In-vivo Demonstration of Unburdening Exiles and Skills Practice

When: May 16 (1:00pm - 4:00pm EST / 10:00am - 1:00pm PST)
