About us.

Welcome to the Canadian Perinatal Mental Health Trainings community, where we are dedicated to providing exceptional support for healthcare and allied professionals working with perinatal populations.

Our top priority is ensuring you have the resources and training you need to excel in your field. We offer a wide range of training programs that are carefully crafted to incorporate evidence-based and practice-based modalities. One unique aspect of our courses is that each one comes with its own mini-research library. This feature allows those passionate about research to delve deeper into their studies and access relevant resources directly. As an organization, we strongly believe in the power of experiential learning and group participation.

Our trainings prioritize hands-on experiences and collaborative learning, allowing you to apply your knowledge in real-world scenarios. We are committed to creating a trauma-sensitive environment and ensuring that reproductive justice and equity-oriented healthcare provision are at the core of our trainings. We are proud to have trained over 1500 practitioners since 2020 and are committed to continuing this important work.

Lifelong learning

It is important to continue acquiring knowledge, skills, and experiences through lifelong learning in order to achieve personal and professional growth. This allows us to adapt to new methods and changes in our field while also enhancing our problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.

Collective knowledge

We believe that the knowledge and information that a group of people possess, rather than that of an individual, is the key to deeper understanding. This type of knowledge is often created through collaboration, communication, and cooperation among individuals with different backgrounds and experiences.

Reflective practice

Reflective practices involve being dedicated to examining and assessing one's own thoughts, emotions, and behaviours. The goal of this practice is to increase self-awareness and enhance the quality of support we offer by identifying areas for personal growth and development.

Relational frameworks

We understand that interpersonal safety allows for learning and risk-taking in a group environment. Our training focus on how our life experiences and relationships affect our learning as well as our mental health and well-being.
